Inundation in Jakarta Is Resolved Quickly

Jakarta Water Resources Dept. has noted that inundation in Jakarta this time can be overcome quickly.

According to Teguh Hendrawan, Head of Jakarta Water Resources Dept., inundation that soaked the streets of the capital on Monday (12/11) has subsided quickly.

"That's because almost all water channels in Jakarta have been dredged and already have mobile pumps to suck water at the point of inundation," he expressed, Wednesday (12/13).

He added, the city has 145 pump houses with 451 stationer pumps. From that number, 95 percent is in good condition. Meanwhile, the pump is broken in the back up with a mobile pump.

To overcome inundation, he gets an instruction of Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan. He was assigned to conduct flood handling from upstream to downstream by deploying tools to the field.

"Mr. Governor wants us to deploy tools to the field. The situation must improve soon," he uttered.
